Horus Heresy: First Contact: 17/10/26

The Ultima Segmentum is a part of the galaxy no stranger to death and destruction. Having witnessed the Betrayal at Calth, the various battles of Prospero and the Pale Stars Campaign, the planets inhabiting this sector have become nothing more than tombs for Loyalists and Traitors alike. A notable conflict to take place here would be the Siege of Baal, the homeworld of the Blood Angels. Left vastly underdefended due to the Signus Campaign, a large cohort of the Sons of Horus and Emperor’s Children, as well as smaller detachments of other traitor legions, descended on what they believed to be an easy target under the cover of the night. Met by surprising resistance from the native Blood Angels, Shattered Legion combatants and Imperial Army loyalists, as well as some reinforcements from nearby loyalist fleets, this would be the beginning of a brutal and atrocious 5 year siege.

Welcome to First Contact, a 2-game day set in the very early days of the Siege of Baal. Cut off and seemingly abandoned by the rest of their Legion, the Blood Angels, as well as Blackshields and Shattered Legions of Isstvan survivors, must defend their homeworld against an onslaught of Traitorous invaders. Who will gain the first victory in this war of attrition?
